My story
It’s funny how in hindsight, everything makes sense – this is certainly true for me when it comes to the way my career has unfolded. The path from art major to MBA is not well worn but is one I’ve been happy to blaze.
I started my professional life with puzzle pieces that didn’t seem to fit: a love of creating, immersing myself in the story behind everything, and also a need to put things in order and find reason in a quantitative way. I see now that my journey has been guided by an innate passion for storytelling and a sense of awe for the power of creativity. From canvases to computing, the iterations of human creative ability are endlessly fascinating.
My early days as an art dealer revealed the power of narrative in marketing, a revelation that drove me to pursue a marketing-focused MBA at the University of Virginia. Although to many this looked like an abrupt pivot, to me it felt like a natural step in developing the skill of crafting compelling brand stories and business strategies and led me to focus on creating and growing brands for the first 10 years after completing my MBA.
My next transition, from the world of market research and brand management to the technology space, was fueled by a desire to be closer to the forefront of innovation. In the world of technology marketing, I’ve found a confluence of my passions and skills, merging the creative flair honed in art galleries with the strategic rigor of brand management. The tech space, with its relentless drive for the new, has been the perfect arena for my commitment to growth and learning.
As I look to the future, I am drawn to challenges that invite creative problem-solving, collaborative innovation, and the opportunity to face new challenges, learn, and create value. I’m always open to connecting and hearing about new opportunities and developments in the technology marketing space.
